ANDREA HYNES

My name is Andrea Hynes.  I grew up just outside of Edmonton in a small town called Beaumont. When I was in my early teens my parents moved us back to their native Northern Ireland where I did my teacher training and achieved my BEd Hons specialising in Early Childhood Education and Special Educational Needs.

I taught for 10 years in Northern Ireland, working with children with special needs, before returning with my family to Calgary.  I took a 5 year career break to be with my 3 sons, before returning to work part time.

I began working at the PREP program with children with Down Syndrome. I was very fortunate to meet some lovely families and some amazing children some of which I still see regularly.  That work brought me to DeWinton Pre-School where initially I worked as an Aide. I was then asked to work as a substitute teacher and 6 years ago was delighted to be asked to teach permanently at the school.

I love being able to help children grow and thrive in the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the staff at DeWinton Pre-School. My goal is to provide an enriching, safe and positive environment where children can play, learn and of course, have fun.

TIFFANY COOPER

Hi! My name is Tiffany Cooper, and I am very excited to be working at De Winton Preschool as the Teacher's Assistant for the last 4 years.

I am originally from Nova Scotia and moved out to Alberta in 2001 after graduating from NSCC with a Business Administration Accounting Certificate.

I have two wonderful children, who I stayed home with until my youngest started Kindergarten.

For the past three years I worked at a preschool where I acquired my Level 1 Childcare Certificate.

I am very happy to be working with all of the children and to be given the opportunity to watch them grow. I look forward to a year of learning, fun and adventure!
